Is Superwhisper free?
There is a free tier that runs Whisper locally without a time limit, which is more generous than Blurt's trial. Blurt gives you 14 days unrestricted, then keeps working at 20 dictations a day. If free forever with no cap is the deciding factor, Superwhisper wins that one.
Do both work on a plane with no wifi?
Yes, as long as you have already downloaded a model. Superwhisper works offline in local mode and falls back to cloud models only if you configure them. Blurt has no cloud mode to fall back to, so offline is simply how it runs.
Which one is more accurate?
Both run the same class of Whisper model, so raw accuracy is close. The difference shows up on names and jargon: Blurt biases the model with a custom vocabulary, applies your heard-to-written replacement rules, and offers corrections it spots in your own transcript history.
Can I run Blurt on Windows or an Intel Mac?
No. Blurt is Apple Silicon only right now, and there is no Windows build. Superwhisper covers Intel Macs, Windows and iOS, so that is the honest answer if your hardware rules Blurt out.
