Blurt vs Voibe: how on-device is on-device?
Voibe runs on the Neural Engine on a Mac, sends Windows dictation to the cloud, and asks you to create an account either way. Blurt has one mode, on your Mac, with no sign-up, and 30 days to change your mind.

Voibe and Blurt look almost identical in a screenshot: hold a key, talk, watch text appear. The differences sit underneath. Voibe supports Windows and Intel Macs, which Blurt does not, but its Windows product is cloud only and every version wants an account. Blurt is narrower on purpose and cheaper for it.
What you are choosing between.
One processing story, not two
Voibe processes on-device on Apple Silicon, or through a zero-retention cloud via Groq and Cerebras if you want the speed. On Windows it is cloud only. Blurt has no cloud tier to opt into or out of, which makes the privacy answer short.
No account is not a small thing
Voibe has you create an account in the app and match that email at checkout. Activating a key on a Mac sends the key, the OS name, the Blurt version and a device label taken from the hostname, once. After that, about once a week, the check sends only the key and that Mac's activation ID. There is no profile, no email in the app, and no password to reset.
Price, plainly
Voibe Dictation lists $9.90 a month, shown discounted to $7.50, plus $75 a year and $149 lifetime. Its meeting product, Voibe Work, is $14 a month. Blurt is $3.99, $29 and $99 with meetings included, and no sale price.
Where Voibe is genuinely ahead
A Windows app, Intel Mac support, a Developer Mode that resolves file paths and variable names in editors, snippet expansion, and cloud fallback when you want raw speed. Blurt has none of those. Both give you 30 days to ask for your money back.

Is Voibe on-device or cloud?
Both, depending on platform and setting. On an Apple Silicon Mac it can run on the Neural Engine. On Windows it is cloud only. If a single unambiguous answer matters to you, that is the reason to look at Blurt, which has no cloud mode to configure.
Do I need an account for Blurt?
No. You download Blurt, use it for 14 days, and if you buy, you paste a licence key. The app checks that key roughly weekly and sends nothing else. There is no email address stored in the app.
Voibe supports Windows. Will Blurt?
There is no Windows version and none has been announced. Blurt is Apple Silicon only today. If you split your day between a Mac and a PC, Voibe covers both and Blurt covers one.
Which is faster?
Voibe's cloud mode can be very fast because it is not bound by your hardware. Blurt returns text in well under a second for a normal sentence on Apple Silicon, and its Parakeet engine is quicker again on English. Both feel instant in practice; the difference is whether speed costs you a round trip to a server.
