Dictivo sells local dictation for a one-time $29 until 31 October 2026, on Mac and Windows, with no account in Local mode. That is less than a third of Blurt's Lifetime price. What Blurt adds is everything around the transcript.

Dictivo is an offline dictation app for Mac and Windows sold as a one-time $29 licence until 31 October 2026, then $49, with updates renewable at $24 a year after the first. Blurt, for Apple Silicon Macs, is $99 once with all future updates, or $3.99 a month, and adds a second engine, local AI cleanup, meeting mode and a learning dictionary.

Dictivo is cheaper to buy
$29 once, rising to $49 after 31 October 2026, covering up to three personal devices. Blurt Lifetime is $99 for three Macs. If you want a local transcriber and nothing else, Dictivo costs a fraction of Blurt.
Dictivo runs on Windows and Intel Macs
Dictivo supports Apple Silicon and Intel Macs plus Windows. Blurt is Apple Silicon only, and no other version has been announced. It also offers a free Tiny model forever and an optional Cloud Fast plan for speed.
Blurt's updates do not expire
Dictivo's licence keeps working forever, but updates after the first year are an optional $24 a year. Blurt Lifetime includes all future updates, and Blurt gives you 30 days to ask for a refund against Dictivo's 14.
Blurt does more with the words
Parakeet alongside Whisper, filler removal and local Qwen formatting with no API key, Polish, meeting mode with mic and call audio, and a vocabulary that learns from your edits. Dictivo's homepage does not mention AI cleanup, meeting capture or a custom dictionary.

You would not, if you just want speech typed into your apps. Blurt earns the difference with local AI cleanup and formatting, the Parakeet engine, meeting transcription, a dictionary that learns from your corrections, and updates that never need renewing.
Is Dictivo fully offline?
In Local mode, Dictivo says audio and transcripts stay on your device. Its optional Cloud Fast mode uploads the recordings you choose to send. Blurt has no cloud mode at all.
What happens to Dictivo after the first year?
Dictivo says the version you buy keeps working forever. Updates after year one are an optional $24 a year.
